Final worshop and reflection

ict-competencies-2It is the end of this unit and I believe that I have learnt and understand so much more about computers and technology than I knew before. I have redone the Personal Competency Test and have definatley made some improvements in areas that I previously had little or no knowledge in . I now feel more comfortable and confident when using a computer and I feel more confident in help others with computer technology also. I found that in the first personal competency test I scored mostly level two’s and three’s, however know I have scored three’s, four’s and even some five’s. Programs such as inspiration, powerpoint, photostory, excel, I had never used before or only briefly, after this course I can now confidently use these programs and feel as tough I could and can teach others how to use them also. I can still struggle with computer programs if unfamiliar problems occur, however I believe that only more experience with these programs and computer technology in general will help me become a better computer technology user. I could probably improve with my file and computer management, but the rest of my lower scores were mainly because I haven’t had the opportunity yet to teach using computer technology, but I know I will and when I do I should hopefully be a lot more prepared and skilled than was before this unit/workshop. As a school teacher in this computer/technology based generation, these skills are essential for students and therefore also necessary for a teacherĀ  if they are to teach these students. Computer technology can make learning more enjoyable and is also a different approach to learning for children. With my new learned computer technology I will be able to incorporate technology into my lessons and classroom. Computer technology is definitely an important aspect in future schools and education and this course is very important in developing good computer technology skills in the educators…teachers.
